Review on πŸŒ€ AC Infinity AIRFRAME T7-N White 16" High-Airflow Cooling Fan System for AV Equipment Rooms, Closets, and Enclosures by Jeremiah Small

Looks good, but there are design flaws.

First off, let me say that I really like the AC Infinity line of products. They are functional and look great. However, this product is a bit off. Let's start with the fact that I bought the device, but it took several months to get it to the top of my project list. Finally I cut my walls (unfortunately they are wider than the rack bay so you will need to frame something or cut the rack). It's not really the product's fault, but they should offer one that is <= 15 inches to fit in a standard rack bay for wall use. blows in the wrong direction. I hung it above my AV cabinet door. I didn't even expect that they would sell two separate SKUs - one for the intake and one for the exhaust. How stupid! Adding a directional button or menu option should have been cheaper than adding another SKU to inventory! Okay, they're just fans, and I went through a reset phase, so I just removed a few screws and flipped the fans. The problem is solved. Then I turned it on. It's relatively quiet on its lowest setting, but the fans used aren't really of the highest quality when in use. Other reviewers noted that they ended up replacing the fans - and I may have to do the same. I don't want any extra noise in the room unless it's something to be expected, like excessive heat causing the fans to run at full speed, but even at second speed they're louder than they should be. Then there's the settings - they really screwed up there. My low level is usually around 65-71 degrees. I want to set the fan to Auto so it turns on every time the room is 72 or higher. Well, the fan gradually increases speed as it approaches the set temperature, not as it exceeds it. So to keep the temp at 72 and run the fan as slow as possible until it gets hot, I actually had to set the fan to 82. So at about 72 it turns on at 1 and then goes up, it automatically increases the fan speed. It makes no sense - the set temperature should be the activation temperature; anything lower should not activate the fan, and as the temperature rises, the fans should speed up. It still does its job well and everything else is great. You have the option to expand the system, add intake grilles if needed, etc. As good as it looks, they should have added a fan direction switch, used higher quality fans, and made the menu clearer. However, it is installed and gives the cabinet an attractive look and I find it does a pretty good job of keeping the temperature inside the cabinet fairly close to the ambient temperature in the room, running at its lowest speed most of the time. time, so I'm still satisfied. If the fans make noise or fail, I will definitely replace them with something better and quieter.
