I would expect the size 9.5 in this style to need some breaking in which is required. In my regular socks they were initially tight at the toes but after a few wears they became comfortable. Of course, without socks, they are a bit more spacious. They're designed in the style of boat shoes, but feel a little light for a practical boat shoe. Leather pumps are popular, but they don't dry quickly and probably don't hold up well when wet. not cleaning well. As the description says, they get a "beautiful patina" including shine and color. Anyway, they look good now. The skin is moderately soft. Canvas lining inside. Foam filled insoles. Minimal arch support. The insoles are glued in, so adding support isn't easy. The outsole is mid-size foam with a raised herringbone tread pattern for traction. It goes away with time, but at the moment the traction is good. When new they smell strongly of glue, they need time to air out. Made in India.
