It was a battery maintainer for sure and it does a great job at that. I used it on my car for an extended time (12+ hours) and worked great for that. However, some people said it takes too long to charge and I have not tested that. If you need a tendor for cheap it's the winner for the price. I have no reason not to like it but if you want to fully charge a boat or something I don't know. All I know is I'm happy but the instructions were poorly translated to english if you're dependent on instruction.
