The plates are too good to be marked as disposable. I had a hard time throwing them away. I wanted to wash them and keep them with my "beautiful china". lol. I used them for our little Thanksgiving gathering and the backdrop was a dinner hit. I had a black and gold pattern and it made my dinner more upscale and upscale. The plates are just wonderful. They also have a good weight which makes them more realistic. The plates are plastic, but no one will ever know until they pick them up. Although they are made of plastic, they are sturdy and durable. Drop them on purpose, simulating a fall off the table, and they won't break or snap off. The set includes not only dinner and salad plates, but also a complete set of dishes. I'm just speechless
