Some useful information for CNC router users

I bought some of these 1/4 x 20 to make a custom mold plate for my Shopbot desktop router. I really wanted some without spikes on the back, but figured for $10 I'd take a chance. They worked exactly as I had hoped. Since they were on the back of the top mounting board I took a pair of pliers and snapped the notches slightly as the MDF I used would never take those notches. Then I drilled a 3/8 hole in a piece of mild steel and used it as an anvil to line up the edge of the T-nut. with a center hole through a .310 inch diameter overflow board. This involved tapping them with a hammer and I used a flat punch to make sure they seated in the drilled hole so they didn't touch the machine bed. It's a bit more work than buying the pin hole version, but they're insanely cheap. When this board runs out I'll just use a 1/4 x 20 screw to knock it out from the front and reuse. Great product at a great price. By the way, none of them had a stretched or crooked thread, they all spun freely! My only complaint is that I wish they would just make them with a round rim for the same price so you don't have to remove the notches.
