He's holding the phone securely. When other people complain about it pressing the power button, it's because it's too tight. This holder holds your phone in a stable position with a click of the lanyard wheel under which it constantly presses the power button. My iPhone SE didn't fare very well with these other cases. I just rode 340 miles on this thing. It was very easy to get used to.
