I bought this camera for my mother-in-law for Christmas last year. She was still using her first digital camera and I noticed that she had trouble seeing the screen due to her small size. So I decided it was time to treat them to a big screen update! As always, I did a lot of research and decided on this camera based on the positive reviews. I was so excited to give this to her! When the box arrived I took out the camera to make sure it was in good condition and to see how it looked. What struck me right away was that the camera is very light and made of plastic, which immediately gives the impression of cheap quality, but I was willing to ignore that as performance is what really matters! After my mother-in-law opened it, she was also enthusiastic and of course wanted to try it immediately. A few minutes after she tried to take a picture of my daughters unwrapping their presents, we noticed that the flash charges very slowly. She skipped a few shots, just waiting for the flash to be ready. It reminds me of the cheap cameras I had as a kid over 20 years ago. I immediately saw the disappointment on my mother-in-law's face and apologized. She swore everything was fine and didn't want me to send her back but now I've noticed that she still almost always uses her old camera instead of a new one making my purchase a waste of money as I've been trying to upgrade your camera, not downgrade it! I just wish she was honest with me and told me sooner so I could get it back.
