I use these bowls to serve fruit and snacks to children. These bowls are made out of clear plastic, which for some reason makes fruit and snacks more appealing to them. These shells are quite thick and fairly well made, very durable and don't bend or warp like some of the cheaper ones. I also use it for food (warm soup only, not hot as I'm not sure if it's 100% safe with really hot food). It's a little pricey, but these bowls can actually be washed and reused multiple times if they haven't been served with a greasy meal.
