Review on Marrkey Waterproof Case For Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus - Built-In Screen Full-Body Protector With Fingerprint ID, Rugged Clear Hard Cover And Belt Clip - Black by Curtis Domus

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It keeps the case's contents dry, but requires great care.

One might wonder at the utility of buying an IP-68 case for a phone that is itself rated IP-68, namely, the Samsung Galaxy S7. The answer, I think, is, first, that just using the S7 on dry land may unknowingly compromise the IP-68 rating. ("IP" stands for "ingress protection"; 6 is the top rating against dust; 8 is the top rating for submersion in water--Samsung says the S7 is "water resistant to a maximum depth of 1.5 meters," which isn't much, "for up to 30 minutes.") Second, given this understanding of the "8" in IP-68, if you want to take your S7 with you when canoeing, boating, etc., it makes sense to use both a belt and suspenders.I tested the Weksi waterproof case for the S7 by placing a tissue in the case, submerging the case in water, taking it out, and seeing whether the tissue remained dry. It did. Provided the case is properly cared for, I've no reason to think it won't provide the same protection for my S7.Proper care includes being very careful of the front membrane. It's what allows you to use the camera, by pressing on the front screen. The sides and back of the case are hard plastic. But the membrane attaches to the inside front of the case along a plastic groove running around the case's inside perimeter. Because the membrane can become dislodged in use, it's vital both to avoid carelessness and test the case, as I did, each time before using it to protect your valuable S7.The case's water-tightness also depends on the seal effected by closures on the case's bottom edge and two sides. They, too, must be carefully secured to be sure they're really closed and not compromised. With these considerations in mind, I would pay more attention to the "water resistant" than the "waterproof" in the case's revain description. Please note, I received this Weksi water resistant case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 free of charge in exchange for my honest review, which I've tried to give.
