Strong and versatile.

These magnetic needles are well made and feel solid. I wanted them to be used for hanging small items on my range hood like single cup teapots, heat pads etc rather than hanging papers on the fridge. Turns out they also work well for colanders, steamer racks, coasters, and more. (For larger items, I use magnetic swivel hooks.) And they work well for hanging microfiber towels from the fridge (although I do use a couple of thumbtacks on each fabric for extra strength...to withstand the force of the tugging when I'm dry my things). hands, etc.) These are strong magnets. The strength of the magnets depends on the surface you want to attach them to. Some metals do not hold a magnet, or only poorly, if there is little iron in it. (For example, many types of stainless steel hold a magnet poorly and some do not hold a magnet at all.) Other factors such as thickness, surface texture, and color affect the metal's magnetic properties. And the position is also important. Magnets grip best when the pulling force is perpendicular to their surface, so the vertical holding force (due to gravity) is only a third of their horizontal holding force rating. Tip: This is the easiest way to detach the magnet from the surface. (or other magnet) use a lever: tilt the pin to one of its sides and do not pull immediately (ie at 90Β° to the metal surface).
