Review on SHURFLO 255 313 Twist Pipe Strainer by Daniel Bruce
For rain barrel boosters - perfect for Shurflo Revolution pump, standard 1/2 " inlet
and it fits perfectly, inlet side is standard 1/2" pipe thread. I used a standard 1/2" garden hose adapter from Home Depot. It was a tight fit, so I didn't think it was the right thread at first, but using teflon threads and a little more torque (but still hand tight) I installed it with one 12v gel cell so I could run sprinklers and soak hoses from your water butts With water butts you definitely need a filter as you get algae and other random particles in your water line.
