Health hazard Ideal for kitchen and dining room

The top of this unit is not machine washable. Cannot be submerged in water. You cannot disassemble the parts and wash them separately. The instructions literally say that if there is food residue on the top, and I guarantee they will, wipe it down with a damp cloth. It's unsanitary. The problem is that microscopic chunks of food get stuck in the exposed screws on the top, and tiny but visible pieces get stuck in the part of the top where the crank mechanism is located. Now it is impossible to completely erase it. After the first use, you will have rotting food leftovers on the top of this appliance forever. In addition, it is impossible to make a decent puree with this device. I bought this to make pesto and hummus. It doesn't work either. As advertised, it will mash with nine handles. It is not true. At 40-50 handles, it comes close to a puree, but can't match the results of the simplest electric food processor. The blades don't get close enough to the sides of the bowl, and you'll always have small bits of the original ingredients sticking to the sides of the bowl no matter how many handles you put in. If it just didn't blend the way I wanted it to, I'd give it 3 stars out of 5 and say "Not a full featured food processor, but a decent chopper for small batches." But since not all parts are fully washable, do I have to give a star. Great idea for a cheap little food processor, but poor execution. Don't waste your $20. Instead, buy an established electric food processor.
