Have used this umbrella a few times walking in the rain for a few blocks, and it kept me and the book bag I usually wear on my back dry (my normal size 1-person umbrella would only keep me and not the bad dry). The only issue I can see is that the handle is a bit too small relative to the size and weight of the umbrella, which can be uncomfortable to hold especially in windy conditions. That said, the two-layer "wind pass through” design works great to prevent the umbrella from being blown inside out. Lastly, the fact that this larger golf-size umbrella collapses like the 1-person umbrellas is a wonderful feature that allows for easy transport while closed and in a standard size tote.
