Review on Shure WA310 4ft Microphone Adapter Cable: 4-Pin Mini Connector (TA4F) to XLR Female Connector by Katie Cordeiro

As a videographer specializing in live broadcast, I sometimes need to bring wireless microphones with me to get what I need to record. In most cases, a lavalier mic is the right choice, but occasionally a portable mic is better. Instead of shelling out another $350 for a handheld wireless mic, I decided to try this cable with a standard Shure SM58. The combination works, but the final recording is more noisy than using the same microphone plugged directly into the recording device. To verify if the noise is coming from the cable or the wireless system, I ran a series of tests using different microphones. including the lavalier that came with the wireless kit via a different adapter so I could test it separately from the wireless transmitter/receiver combo. The result of all these tests showed that the transmitter and receiver combination added a little bit of noise, but the new cable added a lot more. All in all a good deal for €17, but not my first choice.
