The UV sterilizer is over the top otherwise it seems to filter the air pretty well

I can confirm that this air purifier gives off a very unpleasant chemical odor but I have concluded that this is the cause to the UV sterilizer . When the UV sterilizer is off, there is no smell. When you turn on the UV sterilizer, there is a very unpleasant smell. I haven't taken this product apart to find out why, but I suspect the UV lamp housing design is flawed and the UV light is likely melting the plastic housing around it. Either way, leave your UV sterilizer off and you probably won't have to deal with the bad smell it gives off. Buy this air sterilization thing, I bought it because I live in an old apartment building in New York City, there is no central air conditioning so there is nothing to filter/circulate the air and the apartment is VERY dusty. I was fed up with a lot of dust accumulating on and around the furniture, on the floor, etc. and I bought this filter to slow down dust accumulation. That being said, I'm not really upset with the UV sterilizer because I didn't buy it for that function. To be honest, I think the UV sterilizer was an afterthought, just a cheap add-on to convince naive consumers to buy it. Given how fast the air goes through this thing, I highly doubt that the UV sterilizer actually does anything, since particles in the air aren't exposed to UV radiation long enough to be sterilized. It's a cheap complement to Oransi designed as a way to market the device, which I think says a lot about the folks at Oransi as I can't stand such cheap marketing gimmicks, but the filter seems to do the trick fulfill. What I like about this filter is that the air actually appears noticeably cleaner. The air circulation is also excellent. I lit incense sticks in the same room as this air purifier (on the opposite end of the room) and was pleasantly surprised to see that the incense smoke formed a direct jet towards the back of the air purifier. There is no wind at all in this room and it doesn't feel like I'm in a hurricane, but lighting the incense gave me a very real idea of how efficiently this thing circulates air, and it does a very good job. So I'm impressed with that. However, note that this really depends on how you position the filter in your room. I have a standard rectangular room and my filter isn't pointing directly away from the wall, it's parallel to the wall. I've seen people complain about the airflow being off-centre, which is correct, but I believe it was designed to help create a circular airflow in the room. So by placing the device parallel to the wall instead of blowing directly, you create a gentle circular flow that filters the air more efficiently. Looking at some of the product photos and seeing how they place the filter in the room it doesn't seem to promote good airflow and I'm not sure why Oransi shows that their product is likely to be used in an inefficient way. more marketing to show how "low key" their air cleaner can be. In general, think about how you will position the air purifier to get the most benefit. Don't shove it in a corner, don't hide it behind the bed. What I like about this filter is that it's not difficult to look at, so I don't feel embarrassed when it's out in the open. As for noise, there are three speed settings (1, 2, and 3). 1 and 2 are quiet, 3 a little loud. If you're working on a computer near an air filter, you don't need to set it to 3 unless you have a high tolerance. Level 3 is fine if you won't be sitting next to him for a long time, e.g. B. if you are moving around the apartment or even just sitting in another room, level 3 is fine, but not if you are sitting next to him for a long time you might get tired of listening to him. That being said, I don't think the filter noise is that unreasonable. For example, if you have guests in your living room, simply turn the volume down to 1 or even 2, or while sitting next to her. But again, it depends on your tolerance. I've met people with high sound tolerance and people with low tolerance. I'd say I have a medium to low tolerance and just don't find noise to be bothersome when I'm nearby on level 3, but when I'm across the room it's not a problem for me. So in summary: Airflow: Excellent Air filtration: From what I can see it seems good. Noise Level: Acceptable, which seems to be exactly what I expected from such a device. stink. Cheap marketing trick. Do not buy if you are obsessed with UV skills.
