See attached pictures. The first is the Fel-Pro water pump O-ring. Pay attention to the form. Second, the old worn O-ring. Notice how flat it is. I have modified various parts of my cars over the years. To minimize future vacuum leaks, I decided to replace the o-ring on the DISA valve. I bought this o-ring at the recommendation of YouTube user ShopLife TV. The sealing ring has been completely flattened. There was no resistance on removal from the intake manifold as there seemed to be minimal sealing between the DISA and the intake port. I carefully used a utility knife to make notches along the old o-ring. I then painstakingly removed the O-ring piece by piece with a pickaxe. It took a good 30 minutes to clean the surface of the old o-ring. The Fel-Pro o-ring had to be tightened carefully to fit around the drive. I coated the o-ring with WD-40 to help with this. Once it was on DISA I installed it on the inlet of the inlet. I couldn't paste it. Following ShopLife TV's advice, I attached the DISA to the air intake by hand-tightening both screws first. Then I changed the ratchet bolts until the DISA was as close to the inlet as possible. As soon as there was resistance I stopped the ratchet to avoid breaking the plastic on the DISA holding the bolts.
