I've heard so many ways to clean cast iron pans. Some say use salt granules as an exfoliant, others say just rub it in and season with oil again. However, I was never quite sure how clean I actually got the pan with these methods as it always left residue and odors from previous products. I also heard that you shouldn't use water in your cast iron pans. But since using cast iron soap, my pans and pans are like new with no smudges or stains. And the pots didn't rust from water consumption. I just use organic soap with a little water and a piece of chainmail to scrub, dry thoroughly and they come out perfect. I then apply a thin layer of fat and either heat them on the stovetop or in the oven to flavor them and they're ready to go again. Thank God such a product exists.
