Great upgrade for the '99 C3500!
These dampers are significantly better than my old ones (the old ones were removed so anything would be an upgrade). The ride is a lot stiffer, but it handles corners a lot better, especially with a 2.5 ton body (I have a C3500)! I can't tell you how long they will last but the reason I chose Bilsein is because other reviews said you have to change them every 200,000 miles. Take it in disbelief, but the idea is that they last a while.
