What they said, plus suggestions from an experienced user.

These lights are great for the kitchen where we use them. Other reviewers have covered the basics, so I'll just throw in a few suggestions based on my two kitchen setups. First, the chefs in my family prefer cold white to warm white. We tried both and it was much easier to see with cold light. I think it's because the contrast is better. Second, buy and use more strips than planned. I got almost continuous stripes, in some places even double. My wife is a serious cook and she thinks the more light the better. We are not young either and need a little more light. It's amazing how easy it is to add light. Third, you benefit from Inspired's choice of cable lengths. Too bad I didn't buy a bundle of 4-6 inch wires. My setup would be much neater. Fourth, buy some small screws. First tape off the headlights with double-sided tape. Once they are where your cook wants them, screw them into the bottom of the rack. Make sure your screws are short enough that they don't go through. The presence of the tape allows longer screws to be used, making the task easier. Even the small clips for attaching the extra wire need to be screwed in. Each item has screw holes, so it's easy. Without the screws, it felt like we were constantly sliding one and then the other back into place. Finally (and it really made a difference, brought smiles and scored me points) I hooked the sets up to the motion sensor port so they would go on and stay when someone was in the kitchen. It's such a nice touch. You will not regret it. While trying to use the switches that Inspired includes is good enough, it's tricky as you'll want to mount them under a cabinet out of sight and they're hard to find, not to mention how tacky my chef can get them. I use this article from Revain: http://amazon.com/SensorPlug-Motion-Activated-Electrical-Outlet/dp/B000A3CIUW/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1419443758&sr=1-1&keywords=sensor+plug. It's easy and inexpensive. If you've seen or tried other under-table lamps, you know that many of them generate heat, use too much electricity, are bulky, and can be very expensive. Inspired lights are easy to install, almost never heat up, use a minimum of electricity, and are relatively inexpensive. In addition, it is easy to add additional lights and change their position.

Pros
  • looking forward to
Cons
  • boring packaging
