This is the best compact air cooler! As far as I know, there is no better 90mm cooler in this price range. It replaced the stock FX 8320 cooler used on the Phenom II 965 BE (C3, 125W version). Older Phenom II quadcopters are notorious for their high temperatures and low thermal ceilings, so this thing packs quite a punch. Temperatures are much cooler and this cooler is virtually silent. The chassis and GPU fans drown it out even under gaming loads. Now it idles at around 30-32 degrees Celsius (all power saving features enabled in BIOS except C1E) and hasn't gone past 50 degrees under gaming load yet. The processor is currently not overclocked, but I bet you can overclock it to several hundred MHz. It should be noted that I also have 3 120mm case fans, 2 inlet and 1 outlet. I used the thermal paste that came with it and there was a lot of it left over. As for installation, it was pretty easy. Clearing RAM wasn't a problem. The cooler is recessed so the fan doesn't cover the RAM slots on my Asrcok Killer 990FX board. You need access to the back of the motherboard. If your case doesn't have a cutout on the back, the circuit board will need to be removed. The cooler requires a custom bracket (included) so the standard AMD bracket must be removed. Then the bracket is screwed to the circuit board and the cooler is screwed to this bracket. The fan must be removed before the screw underneath in the base of the cooler is accessible. Of course, don't forget to clean the CPU heat spreader very thoroughly (medical alcohol works well) and the radiator base before applying the paste and screwing it on. Make sure it's tight and doesn't move, and you're done!
