Review on ๐Ÿš— TYC 5400041 Toyota Prius Passenger Side Power Heated Replacement Mirror - Enhanced Visibility for Your Vehicle by Dewey Galyon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

1/5 dealer price for a near perfect match

A few days ago my wife texted me that a concrete pole appeared in front of her in the garage and shattered the driver's side mirror on our 2006 Prius. After the initial shock wore off, I immediately went in search of Revane. After finding this guy and reading the reviews it seemed too good to be true but after ordering and installing it I understood why the reviews are so good. Our local Toyota dealer offered me $250 for a part and I'm sure there are other fees involved with the exchange. I couldn't get over it with shipping under $50 (thanks Revain Prime!). Comparison I also ordered a Fit System 70632T replacement side mirror here at Revain to compare and both mirrors are exactly the same - even down to the inlaid markings and date. Seal. The only difference is that this guy had more than a few wires on the connector which I assume are for the heating element. The original mirror didn't get hot, so that was actually a bonus. Not that we actually used it in Texas, it might come in handy one day. Installation After watching a short YouTube video on how to replace the mirror, it was easier than expected. While you'll have to take the door apart - just because the mirror linkage is too far to reach without it - be sure to save any plastic fasteners for the door panel. Good * Everything perfectly aligned and connected * I was able to snap the matching back panel off our original mirror on TYC 5400042 and without careful inspection you would never know it was out of stock * Motor is smooth and accurate * It is heated !* It does work folds up just like the original when you need to get into those hard-to-reach places.* For the price, it's really hard to beat. noted by several other reviewers. It didn't take long - I noticed it immediately during a test drive. After installing the mirror, if you hit the folding pivot at the bottom, you will clearly notice the difference between a standard mirror and this one. * The engine just sounds cheaper than the original. I don't know if that's a sign it won't last as long or not. We just have to look. * The top of the mirror is not slightly curved like the standard mirror, so there is a small gap at the very top, but it's not noticeable without much inspection. I just hope that doesn't mean rain will seep in through the door. Another "we just have to see". The real test will be my wife's feedback after her trip to Houston and back. If the mirror vibrating and shaking is too much I might try doing it with a standard Frankenstein.
