This product arrived with no instructions, I had to go back to the Amazon link to see what the instructions were. I've tried this on several items, even very cheap fabric, and can't seem to get it to work at all. The pins don't go into the part where they should go. The pincer part of this product sucks for lack of a better word, it doesn't hold the serrated part in place and doesn't close well enough to make that clasp. The splined part will not stay in place when in the tool. A magnetic or other holding effect is required. You must always keep the outer (toothed) ring upside down or it will fall out of the tool. waste of my money
