Some quality knives (cutlery) are meant to be used while others are meant to be displayed. It's a tool, not a utensil, but I'm still torn between using it and showing it off. It's really beautiful. To say I'm new to drywall finishing would be an insult to reputable drywall finishers. I'm a seasoned homeowner with a perfectionist approach to almost everything I do, so even if I'm not very good at it, the job usually ends well. The price of an item is usually my bottom line when making a purchasing decision, but the quality of this tool, while more expensive than some others, is totally worth the price. This is a durable knife and very easy to clean. It has no cracks, nooks or crevices where dirt hides, making it easy to clean. This knife seems to be a bit stiffer than others I have, but for the way I will be using it (priming panel joints) I feel it has just the right stiffness. I definitely want my 5 inch knife to be more flexible but I am considering a 3 inch knife and think it will fit the way I will be using it. Although I didn't want to use it the first time because it looked so good out of the box, it cleans up really well and still (used but) looks pretty good. I am completely satisfied with the product and will be able to purchase more in different widths to complete the set.
