Review on LG 38GL950G B Ultragear Monitor: 3840X1600P, 144Hz πŸ–₯️ Refresh Rate, Height Adjustment, Wall Mountable, Anti-Glare Coating, IPS by Arthur Jenkins

Great display but 1ms unusable

This monitor is great. When you turn it on for the first time and set it to maximum resolution, it confuses you. However, this is a gaming monitor and costs twice as much as LG's non-gaming 38-inch ultra-wide monitors. Refresh rate and response time are important to us. For the price, this monitor is only halfway there. Does it get the frames you're looking for? Yes. Will it have enough space for non-gaming tasks? Absolutely. Will it offer the claimed 1ms response time? no Why? Because it can't be used, period. On "Faster" the screen cracks, shadows appear, causing headaches and eye fatigue. I hope LG continues to improve IPS panels. Until then, I would postpone your purchase until the price is significantly reduced. You can buy a 38-inch ultra-wide panel for non-gaming tasks and a smaller IPS panel for gaming if you want.
