Review on Master Lock Combination Button 5423D by Leon Johnsson

I bought the first of these products five years ago and have used them intermittently. It was fixed to a brick wall with lead dowels under our canopy (protected from rain and direct sun) and worked fine for a while. Then one day three years ago it just wouldn't open and couldn't open no matter how hard I tried for two days. I thought maybe I accidentally hit the combo reset button and reset the combo. I ended up hitting it against a brick wall with a hammer and breaking it open, then I bought a new one, believing it was user error. I installed a new box, installed the combo and successfully opened it maybe 5 times in the last 2 years. Same problem today. The outside temperature is 65ºF so metal expansion or contraction should not be the cause. Several attempts to open the box did not open. Completely disappointed with the design of this movement and/or poor manufacture. I would not recommend this product. It's useless if you can't log in when you have to.
