Overall this bike was easy to assemble and very sturdy but there are a few issues we can't solve that made our 4.5 year old son not really like this bike can . First, the training wheels tend to loosen and shift after a short ride, causing the bike to tilt from side to side, making my son very unsteady. Second, the pedals feel too high off the ground. If we lower the seat so he can reach the floor, his legs will buckle. When we raise the seat to a suitable kicking height, it doesn't even come close to touching the ground. Our friends with other bike models don't have this problem. Very frustrating. My son is quite tall for his age so the 12 inch bike is too small. He's a pro with his trike and balance bike, so pedaling, steering and balancing are no problem. After asking other parent friends and trying kids bikes, we assume the bike is the problem. However, it may work for a larger child who doesn't need to use balance bikes. Is perhaps better suited as a second wheel.
