My little one can pick it up with his clumsy fingers, but more importantly, her older brother rediscovers his love for the ball when he plays ball with his friends in a swimming competition. He's so light that they can hit him hard and he won't get that far. If he had hurt someone, he would hardly have caused an injury. This allowed my child to let off steam at a crowded event. Anything with a lot of mass would be too chaotic. If I had been careful I would have bought it for him. Luckily, his little sister (who loves to play Drop and Return herself) doesn't mind sharing.
