Review on ๐ŸฆŒ Precision Hunting with Simmons Hunting Laser Rangefinder: Volt & Venture Models by Charles Collier

Excellent range finder for bowhunting (Do not use.

Excellent range finder for bowhunting (Do not use for long range rifle hunting or golf. Read on to see why)! The optics are clear and it accurately measures distance all in one open field (where I originally tested) and from my climber (before I bought it my footage was marked with a different colored tape. This range finder confirmed my measurements and proved that this range finder was accurate) or bushes (even the expensive ones not), so you need to explore open terrain. This range finder has no backlight, so at dusk or dawn it is difficult to read the distance in the yard mark (because the writing is black). , the range finder works at dusk or at dawn. So if you have something bright (corn piles or uh stuff) for contrast you can still read the footage (the meter stays on screen for a few seconds so you can select something dark and then switch to a contrasting color and read the numbers). It was accurate +/- 1 yard to 65 yards (that's the max distance I tested because I don't shoot well enough to shoot further with a bow). Many reviews say it won't measure deer out to 600 yards. It is true. However, this rangefinder is not designed to detect deer up to a distance of 600 meters. Look at the photo I have attached and you will see that this product is only rated for 200 yards for deer hunting. I'm not sure why it isn't explained on this page, but this range finder would not be suitable for long range rifle hunting or golf. And honestly, if you're trying to shoot deer at 400-600 yards, you should probably invest in a higher rangefinder. It's not meant to be a top range finder. This is a budget range finder that is great for hunting with a bow.
