I had a dilemma. Visiting family members who love their K-Cups, and me . who drinks dark roast decaf that doesn't come in K-Cups. And I'm not dealing with two coffee makers! My daughter was going to bring her Keurig when she came to visit, but how inconvenient is that?Fortunately, my 12-cup coffeemaker broke - yes, that sounds weird - and I was on the search for a new one. My doctor had been advising me to cut down on my coffee intake, so a single-cup machine seemed like a good idea to break me from my 2-pot-a-day habit.The Instant Solo Single Serve Coffee Maker was on sale and looked like it checked all my boxes when it came to requirements, except I thought I'd have to buy a smaller travel mug as the description didn't seem like it would accommodate a 20oz travel mug. I liked that it was compact, and I had a choice of colors, even though I chose basic black.When my Solo arrived, I was surprised that my 20oz travel mug did, in fact, fit when I removed the drip tray. And, even though the machine only brews 8, 10, or 12oz, I can fill my 20oz tumbler by brewing 12oz and then 8oz (and who said my math was bad?!) My daughter can use her K-Cups without having to bring her Keurig to visit, and I can use my beloved Kirkland dark roast decaf in the supplied reusable coffee pod.The reusable coffee pod is handy! it comes completely apart, so no hidden corners for coffee grounds to get stuck in. It's solid and well-constructed, so it can take the thumping you give it when you bang it to get the coffee grounds out, and the handle means you don't get covered in wet, sticky grounds, as well as is a means to place it correctly in the machine.Cleaning is a breeze! The water container is straight-sided and easy to wash and dry. It's also large enough that I only have to fill it daily.I'm very happy with my choice!
