This item replaces an old tool of the same brand that I have been using for at least 5 years. I find such a hot air brush very beneficial for my hair type. After blow drying my shoulder length hair, the last few inches don't look good so I like to curl it to make it look neater and less frizzy. This brush is perfect for the job and I don't want to be without it anymore. There are several barrel diameters available and I use a 1" barrel. I have an older 1-1/4" barrel and it felt too big for me. I comb through my mostly dry hair to tighten it up a bit straighten, then I part my hair in half, curl one side for 30 seconds, then the other, the button releases the barrel so the hair is easy to twist up without getting caught in the bristles, although you're still careful need to be when you wrap the hair around the barrel to give it a little looseness.There are two heat settings and I usually start on the highest setting and after about 10 seconds I decrease it to a lower setting for 20 seconds.However even that is hottest setting not very hot my previous brush still works and I've had it for years but I was concerned that if it stopped working I wouldn't be able to replace it so I looked for the same brush a as a substitute. This is the same brush, only the design is slightly different.
