I am very disappointed with this coat. I bought this to replace my pony/mini which normally wears a 46 inch frog. I bought a 48" so I can add another layer underneath if it gets really cold. This coat doesn't even reach far enough down the side to even cover them. That might help on a skinny animal, but it definitely will not on minis or ponies. There is also no insulation on the sides. All insulation is closer to the center back. My other coats have had insulation on the sides. This coat might fit a dog or other slim animal, but not to a barrel shaped horse. I would love to return it but I can't because I left it with her for a rainy night because that was all I had. I ended up buying another 48" coat , which fits perfectly.
