I am giving 3 stars because the stain was useless for my application and did nothing but I think it's just a tricky use case. I'm trying to use this to color a 3D printed object that is filled with wood, it's about 30-40% of the wood. Stains can be applied to things like that, but apparently not in that way. Again, this is a 3D printed part made out of part wood and part resin. It happened to be the cheapest stain available at the time. All that happens with it is that it just stays on the surface and then dries up. After drying, when wet again, the stain is completely washed off. Nothing is absorbed here. I first tried following the directions and making 1 part stain to 1 part water, I also tried making stain in a fully concentrated form. No changes. I will say that when I clean the brush from excess stain, the paper gets an even coating. If it were stain absorbent it would work great for my purpose. I can't tell if the color is accurate or not, but at least it covers it evenly.
