Almost every low review on this product was based on people misunderstanding what they are getting. It uses static pressure to break knots. It doesn't slip, you don't rub it. They squeeze rubber balls to compress tight muscles. It is excellent for all the muscles of the lateral neck, SCM, scalene muscles, trapezius, levator cervix and even the suboccipital and other muscles in the back. It's harder to use on your own shoulder, but not as bad when leaning against a chair. I used it just above the knee joint and on the calves. The plastic appears to be quite strong and durable and is designed to withstand any kind of flexing. But it didn't take long for me. I often use Theracan for knots but prefer it for neck problems. You even get double-sided printing. And since you only have to squeeze the handles to create the leverage, it's a lot easier than the Teracan (which requires a lot of work to create your own leverage). In short, this is the best I've found for people who aren't helped by weak sauce shiatsu or vibratory massagers.
