It's probably best to order a few spare keys from the manufacturer right away so you can have TWO on your trip and a spare key or two in a safe place at home. 3) For more limited protection, you can attach this to the handlebar, but not lock it. You can turn the Disklok on the wheel so that the lock is down and anyone looking out of the car window cannot see whether it is locked or not. 4) It's heavy enough to be awkward to put on and take off. . I usually throw it in the passenger seat when I'm driving. If you have to put it in the back seat every time, it becomes more awkward.
