Works. My kids wanted to install this at the top of their room. We built a short fence (wall?) around the top where we attached these strips. The stripes are completely hidden when you're in the room, but the light bounces off the original wall, giving the room a glowing look that my kids love. We hid the wireless receivers in the closet and the only problem is that the signals aren't strong enough to penetrate the walls all the time. Therefore, in order to turn them on or change color, they must be held at an angle to hit the receivers. We bought two other strips for another room at Home Depot, they were a little lighter than this one. However, Home Depot strips cost almost twice as much. Generally satisfied so far.
