Believe the hype! - Accessory

I was looking for a keyboard that was less bulky than my Logitech G710. I had never owned a mechanical keyboard before, and while I appreciated the technical side of it, it never won me over. I write books so I type a lot and prefer a keyboard that fits my fingers better. The Cherry shifters on my G710 were heavy and required significant pressure compared to the membrane switches I was used to as a kid. Before the G710 I had a Logitech K740 and really liked this board. It had a very light actuation (it required force to press the key) which allowed me to type for hours without pain in my finger joints. I thought about what to try next for a while as I'm on a tight budget and wasn't sure what kind of mechanical keyboard I was interested in. I noticed that during a quick sale; Some reviews compared this to a scissor switch style keyboard rather than a standard blue switch. So I took the plunge. Turns out the reviewers were right! The switches feel much lighter and the action is very smooth. The keys really don't need as much force as the standard cherry blue keys and are noticeably easier to press. The keystrokes feel better than my old K740 which was a scissor switch keyboard. You have a much more accurate feel for it; They don't feel as "floating" like scissors or as springy as membranes. They're more like cherry blues, but a lot brighter. The keyboard is also very thin, but it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The base feels heavy, like it's solidly made of plastic and metal. The overall size is perfect for my VIVO Adjustable Computer Keyboard and Mouse Platform (MOUNT-KB03B), which accommodates both this keyboard and an ergonomic mouse pad. Software wise, this has to be the most customizable board I've ever used. I have many boards, controllers, etc., but I couldn't customize each button individually, not only in terms of color and backlighting, but also in terms of macros and functions. In the keyboard software, I could set each key to almost anything I could think of. The software itself is very minimalistic and simple; I had no problems setting it up. Can't speak to durability yet, but you can trust me to update this later if this thing breaks and problems arise. If you haven't heard from me, consider the ending here happy and this keyboard and I are still going strong.
