I bought these because I like warm light mostly, but sometimes bright white light is definitely helpful when I'm working on different things. I have them in my kitchen and they are very useful to dim the lights even when the kitchen is not in use so not much light leaks into other rooms but gives enough light to go in and find something. The only downside to these bulbs is that if your bulbs dim when other products are using a lot of electricity, they may not be right for you if you want to use bright white light a lot. With each high consumption of electricity, the performance can drop so much that the lighting switches from bright to warm light.
