Review on AAXA 4K1 LED Home Theater Projector: Immersive 4K UHD Resolution, Long-lasting LEDs, Compact & Portable, Dual HDMI, 1500 Lumens by Richard Cartner

(UPDATE!) NEW FIRMWARE All problems fixed! I spoke to AAXA support and they sent me a 4k1 to test with the new firmware that all new 4k1 projectors ship with. If you get a bad one, call AAXA for an update! A++ support! -- Old review below -- So I got this yesterday and was very excited to test it for video and performance. First, the picture looked great when I hooked it up to a PC for testing. Two HDMI 2.0 ports on the back and the projector supports (at least claims) 60 fps at 4k. I may have gotten a bad one, but it twitched and hung when playing ANY type of video in ANY resolution. Tried on PC Tried on laptop. I tried Xbox One X and the clutch was the same on all devices. This projector has BIG potential at a good price if it didn't have this problem. Hiccups in video playback helped. There is also an option to update the firmware via USB, but I couldn't find any clear updates for this model on the Axxa website. Use for family game nights or movie nights. I WILL UPDATE THIS REVIEW once the replacement arrives IF it works properly. For now (7/23/19) do not buy this to play videos of any kind. ((UPDATE)) 8/1/19 Received a replacement projector and it STILL stutters. called AAXA. And they know about the problem yesterday (7/31/19). They are working to fix the firmware. If the fix doesn't work or can't be fixed, the 2-star rating will remain and I'll send it back as well. Good luck AAXA in finding the problem. Excellent customer service! (UPDATE 8/6/19) There is no firmware update for AAXA 4K1. I called AAXA back to check and they sent me a 4k 60fps compatibility chart. Your computer or game console is probably not running with the correct settings, but they sent me a chart showing compatibility settings for 4k with different frame rates to fix the freezing issue. I'll try these settings soon to see if they really work. a new image is loaded. (UPDATE 8/6/19) None of the settings in the compatibility list worked on PC or Xbox. I don't have a PS4 Pro to test, but AAXA claims it will work on a 4k resolution PS4 Pro. I can't confirm that and I don't trust their tests at the moment. It's not worth buying if it takes SO MUCH fiddling to make it work. and it still didn't work for me. This is a return to Revane. 1 star. Sorry AAXA, but this does NOT work.
