Newer version Purchased in 2020 Pros: - no plastic taste even after 24 hours - very secure lid closure - made in the USA - light weight: 1L = 1.6oz, 0.75L = 1.4 oz (see photo) - resists freezing in sub-zero temperatures (see photo) - small pockets (see photo) - fits in side pockets of backpacks when full (see photo) - stands on their own seats - cool design choice - see through to check water level - Build quality (typical of Platypus products) - Dishwasher safe - Durable - Clip to hold bottle - Guaranteed for the life of the product Cons: - Heats water for the sun, like any plastic bottle - It takes a few Time until it's completely dry good! I bought two and bought two more a week later. I originally bought them for an overnight (2 days, 1 night) hike in New England in mid-February at 10º - 0º. However, there was no wind. They performed better than expected. I kept them in the side pockets of my backpack and exposed them to inclement weather with very little ice formation. The double lock is so secure I've stored bottles in my sleeping bag without worrying about a leak. The clip gate was very handy for hanging my bottles and keeping the snow out. In platypuses, bladders and bottles have better (no) taste. Now they are mine. Highly recommended.
