Review on Pilot CR 112 Receiver Mounted Cargo by James Khalifa

I bought this from Pep Boys where it was called a "Bully Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier". I agree with other reviews about the clout. When it's loaded and you take turns, it tilts to one side, making noise and, in some cases, scratching. Over time, this can cause damage to the trunk or tow hitch. Some constructions of this type of product are such that the trunk is raised a few centimeters instead of being straight as in this case. In many installations, the end-to-end design results in the rack being too close to the floor. Adding the influence mentioned above will cause the corners to bend and scratch. I ended up having to buy an adapter to raise the stand a few inches. It doesn't come with reflectors, which I think most states should have, and they should come with the product. I disagree with the reviews regarding problems with the rake being too close to the muffler. Well I guess I agree in part because I don't like the through design and if they designed it to be a few inches taller it would result in better exhaust placement. However, installers are responsible for ensuring proper installation in this regard. The manufacturer cannot know what brand of receiver hitch you have installed on your vehicle etc.
