Review on Prince Lionheart Corner Guards Chocolate Safety by Betty Tucker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Have they changed? Still pretty good.

We used these on my 4 year old when he first started walking in January 2010. We had to replace one of these on our coffee table because I accidentally broke it while removing the glass. It seems that the material has become softer or more porous. Either that or the ones we've had for years have hardened. I'm not sure which. We also use the same branded grate for our fireplace, which we bought when we moved in August 2011. This grille feels firmer rather than softer than the new grilles we've received. This probably won't be a problem for most people, but the reason I mention it is because my 11 month old bites and my 4 year old doesn't. The child could penetrate the softer material with its teeth and rip pieces out. We ended up removing the old sofa from the higher table and replacing it with a softer one. We then used the old one on the coffee table. Now he can't bite any of them at "bite level". FYI, we also do not use the adhesive strips that come with these shields. We learned on our first set that they don't hold up very well. We use this: Loctite 1360350 Power Grab 60" Mounting Tape on a Roll We've never had a problem with kids taking it off. According to Loctite reviews, it won't stick to rough surfaces, but since we have glass countertops, we've had no problems.
