I bought this analogue thermometer to determine the temperature of the grill. I had high hopes for this product but it turned out to be extremely unreliable. I turn on my propane grill and the grill thermometer immediately responds to the temperature increase caused by the fire. This item literally sits on the grill right under the fire and barely moves. I was cooking for a long time (8 hours) and this thermometer was 50 degrees colder than a range hood thermometer. How is that possible? It's literally on the grill and it reads less than a thermometer on the grill hood. Due to the long time to reach temperature and the inconsistency of the trigger thermometer, this thermometer can NOT be recommended as a thermometer. avoid it
