Musty smell: Replacement tips

I bought two replacement tips in a pack and after one use my laundry room smelled like moldy fabric? They look the same and match my mop but I can't get rid of the mop smell? I have tried different cleaning products and also soaked in vinegar. Does it still stink? I have never had this smell when I bought the original mop.
