Age appropriateness in question

The description on this little remote control car said for ages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 years old. I bought this for my 2 1/2 rather precocious nephew but when it arrived, the age stated on the box was 6 years old! I suggested if it was too old for my nephew that they put it away for awhile, but the page information was very misleading.
