I was a bit skeptical but thought it was worth a try <$30 a gallon and I'm glad I bought it! I'm in Colorado where it's very dry and with cold weather and forced air heating I always have a bit of a static problem around my house. But for some reason these static electricity fairies visit my theater room 10 times! It's so bad that if I forget to let something off by touching something non-technical, my movie projector shuts off momentarily or my DVD player shuts down completely. And it hurts like hell when I'm out of power! So I took this ACL anti-stat, put it in a spray bottle and lightly sprayed it on the carpets around my AV gear along with the couch. It had a VERY slight chemical odor when it came out of my atomizer but NO residual odor and I don't see any sign of residue on my AV equipment that was in the spray path. I apply about 1 ounce of product for the first application and expect to reapply about once a week which will last about 2 years for that gallon. I won't say I get NO static, but I would say the shock level (pain, sparks, potential damage) went down from an 8 or 9 to a 1 or 1.5. Not a complete solution but for the money this is a HUGE improvement and will likely prevent permanent damage to my projector, receiver, subwoofer, DVD player or myself! Highly recommended as a cost effective 85-95% reduction in static problems in the home. Maybe next time I'll try that on my longhaired cat. No I'm just kidding! Most of time. :)
