1. There is no Double-deck system. Look at my pictures. It's one piece of plastic molded to have a paper thin second area that does nothing. My cheap bread knife clangs back and forth. The tip of my good 8-inch knife touches the hard plastic bottom. Paring knives are just too small for it. Both pairs of kitchen scissors I tried, fit just okay.2. There is no hole for the sharpening rod. The box says there is.I'm not going to risk using this, especially for my good knives.
