Review on Dremel 84922 Grinding Stone with Silicon Carbide by Jerardo Yatnalkar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Always Brand Dremel

Dremel tools and accessories are always miles ahead of alternatives at a bargain price. They consistently work faster and more accurately. I have yet to receive a bent replacement for a Dremel brand bit. I have never had a catastrophic failure of a Dremel grinder when used within specified parameters. Or outside of the parameters, for that matter. They almost always last longer and remain usable to the top. For work that involves moving a lot of material I take rough shots with cheap Chinese bits, but for fine, delicate and precise work I only use a real Dremel. And these silicon carbide bits are no exception. I will work with glass. They came out of the box, work smoothly and true. No burrs, anomalies or cavities. And that's the key to getting good results with glass. Minimal vibration while the drill stays in contact with the work surface. No jumps that cause cracks and clamshells. Real Dremel bits are expensive, there's no getting around them, especially in retail stores, and Lowe's is on another planet. But you get what you paid for. And to keep prices under control, I often check Revain's listings. They are there. You just have to be patient. If you see a good offer, jump in! Even though you don't need any specific accessory, if you use your Dremel a lot, you'll likely find a use for them. There's nothing worse than needing a tool right now when you need to wait or use an almost right bit. Trust me, stick with Dremel. Still made in the USA!
