I have been wiring for recording studios including my own studio for many years. I no longer work in the studio as a job, but as a private hobby. In the past I've used Neutrik and Switchcraft connectors, which are widely used for their reliability and durability. I recently hooked up some studio racks with 1/4" TRS balanced jacks. I decided to try these GLS connectors because they are less expensive than the more established brands I have used in the past. I found them to be just as good as the Switchcraft and Neutrik connectors I use. The only downside I've found with these connectors compared to others is the end clamp which crimps the cable and provides strain relief. The strain relief clamps for the GLS connector are supplied semi-closed when you need to run the cable through the crimped end. I prefer to open the crimp all the way so you can plug the cable into the jack and then crimp the strain relief after soldering the mic cable. It's just a minor inconvenience where I just used needle nose pliers to fully open the clamp on the cable so I could thread the cable into the connector, solder it and then bend the clamp back up to relieve the mic . Cable. The quality and durability is definitely on par with more established brands.
