Do not buy for African heads! Please read!

Do not use them with Afr 185 heads. They are too thin for heads and will fail. For me both sides fell apart after 1 ride around the block. There's a split where they have metal cores that bond in the metal. And rubber is the only thing holding this division together. Afro heads have such a thin surface that they push out and go in. And break at the end where the metal joins. I HATE CORK PADS! but they are the only ones I can ever handle with my African heads. If only it was solid stamped steel with no gaps instead of this weird design. Maybe they would work. Why make a steel core gasket? And end up with a split in there. And does the rubber hold together?! I wish I could take photos to show you. But I was too angry, threw them in the trash and spent hours scrubbing the oil out of the engine bay. I replaced them with double cork steel gaskets for $40. I noticed that when I was laying cork. Tighten them evenly and after a few cycles of movement, tighten 3-4 more times. After the 3rd or 4th they were still good. And it hasn't flowed for a year. Oh, and I even went as far as buying a $50 Arp valve cover stud kit, which is great if you can afford it. They are threads of lead on one side of the lugs that go into the heads. And then a very thin thread for the tip, which you twist. They hold tight and you don't have to worry about the threaded studs coming together. Or break out. I did the same for my intake. The same thing. Stock from 1 side to the head. Then a stunningly thin profile on the side of the nut. Seriously the best. The 2 things I've ever done is study those two areas.
