I bought this mat to use in my 7 month old daughter's bath. She has recently started sitting in the play tub without support and we asked her to sit on a towel to keep her from slipping. The towel just wasn't practical and didn't always work, so we looked around for a bath mat. This works very well for us. People have mentioned that the suction cups are uncomfortable, but we haven't come across that. Yes, you can feel the slight bumps, but my daughter is quite happy to sit on it in the bath for 20-30 minutes. They suck very well and we had no trouble getting up. It's also great for preventing her from slipping when reaching for a toy, which is why we bought it in the first place. I also talked about sizes, but I'm glad I took the large. My daughter's bathroom is the standard tub/shower combo and the large one covers about 3/5 of the bathroom floor. This works great since she is an inpatient nanny. We use it on the side of the tub away from the faucet to avoid accidental headbutts. There is a slight plastic/rubber smell when first unpacked, but that went away after the first bath.
